Velo3D announces technical partnership with Ohio Ordnance Works for advanced military equipment manufacturing initiative.
Additive manufacturing firm Velo3D announced Monday a new technical partnership with Ohio Ordnance Works, Inc. (OOW) to support military hardware development using advanced 3D printing technologies.
The agreement establishes Velo3D as a key technical advisor, providing specialized engineering expertise for OOW’s initiative to incorporate additive manufacturing into military equipment production.
Velo3D will provide technical enablement to OOW centered around component design, materials engineering and performance qualification to satisfy the stringent demands of military end-use requirements for OOW’s manufacturing program under the partnership.
“This collaboration is a major advance in defense manufacturing technology,” said Arun Jeldi, Velo3D CEO, referring to the company’s part in the effort.
Bob Landies III, President of Ohio Ordnance Works, stressed that the alliance is critical to preserving excellence in the factory: “State-of-the-art production methods are imperative for keeping up with today’s demanding defense needs.”
The announcement follows strategic changes at Velo3D after its acquisition earlier this year by Arrayed Additive, marking a shift toward specialized manufacturing services for high-demand sectors.
