xTool MetalFab combines three industrial metalworking functions in one smart machine, now available on Kickstarter.
The xTool MetalFab has launched on Kickstarter, offering an all-in-one solution for professional metalworking that combines laser welding, CNC cutting and metal surface cleaning in a single compact unit.
The machine allows users to switch between handheld manual operation and automated CNC-guided functions. xTool claims it’s the first smart metalworking system of its kind, designed for both newcomers and professionals.
One notable feature is the underwater welding capability, which xTool says delivers “dry-land quality” joins even in wet environments.
That MetalFab comes equipped with intelligent connectivity technology, as well as an integrated touch screen control panel which walks users through complicated workflows while providing custom workflows for advanced users.
For cleaning purposes, the system applies rust and paint removal lasers rather than abrasive methods such as sandpaper, or chemical stripping.
Unlike modular fabrication systems such as the Snapmaker Artisan that focus on 3D printing and engraving, the MetalFab specifically targets metalworking functions including shaping, finishing and repair.
The MetalFab is currently available for pre-order through Kickstarter until Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 6:00 PM PDT. Pricing starts at $4,999 for the 800W model, with the full 1200W CNC configuration priced at $13,999. Post-campaign retail prices are expected to range between $6,999 and $17,999.
