A recent announcement shows Gucci expanding its Cub3d sneaker line for Spring Summer 2025, following what appears to be successful market testing with last year’s limited 20-pair release. The luxury brand claims to be offering the innovative footwear in five distinct colorways, including Purple, Grey, Black, Brown, and Grey-and-white options.
The sneakers reportedly combine Demetra – Gucci’s proprietary material containing at least 70% plant-based ingredients – with mesh construction. Sources indicate the material integration includes viscose, wood pulp, and bio-based polyurethane, though we’re unable to verify the exact composition at time of writing.
Technical details shared by Matteo Burzio, a Gucci footwear 3D designer, suggest the distinctive pattern was developed using Rhino and Grasshopper software before being applied to the sneaker midsole.
