Pimax updates software, fixes bugs, provides 3D print files, and prepares for Dream Air announcement.
Pimax has released a new beta version of its Play software and announced an upcoming event for its Dream Air VR headset.
The Play software beta version 1.39.2 includes an optimized installation process aimed at simplifying setup for new users. Original Crystal headset owners can now use their device’s serial number as a discount voucher when purchasing the Crystal Super.
The update addresses several persistent bugs. Crystal Super users will find a fix for a distortion issue that appeared on computers that previously ran a Crystal Light. Original Crystal users should no longer experience the freezing bug present in version 1.39.
The Crystal Super received a firmware update to version 1.0.5, which improves audio quality out of the box. Pimax indicated this is the first in a planned series of bug-fixing updates for their flagship headset.
Pimax also published a list of known issues with the Crystal Super. Current problems include inaccurate auto IPD adjustment, oversaturated colors in some VR games, and audio quality that doesn’t match the original Crystal.
In addition to the software updates, Pimax has released new 3D print files for accessories like the Crystal Super and Crystal Light Lighthouse faceplates.
