Makerfabs releases affordable open-source dimmer for controlling AC-powered devices with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.
Makerfabs launched the Matouch AC Dimmer , an open-source controller that enables users to adjust light brightness and motor speed of electronic devices.
The dimmer operates by modifying AC current through phase-cut dimming, similar to residential light dimmer switches found in homes and offices.
The Matouch is built around a Wi-Fi and Bluetooth-enabled ESP32-S3 microcontroller featuring 16MB of flash storage and 8MB PSRAM. The device includes a distinctive 1.28-inch touchscreen integrated into a rotary knob, reminiscent of smart home thermostat controls.
Applications of Matouch AC Dimmer have various domains. It is a powerful controller able to control fans, LED lighting strips, AC powered heated beds and heaters in enclosed machines. It is capable of manipulating any apparatus functioning on AC current.
