Posedla unveils three tiers of custom 3D-printed saddles targeting different rider budgets and needs.

Posedla, the Czech custom saddle manufacturer, has redefined its product lineup with the release of three new 3D-printed saddle options designed to make personalized comfort accessible to a wider range of cyclists. The new Joyseat 3.0 line features the same custom-fit 3D-printed tops but offers different underlying structures to hit varying price points.

The expanded line is the next step in democratizing custom saddle technology that first emerged in 2019. While personalized saddles have long been the holy grail for serious cyclists, the high cost has traditionally kept them out of reach for many riders. Posedla’s latest innovation addresses this challenge head-on.

“With Joyseat, customisation isn’t a feature. It’s the foundation,” explains Posedla co-founder Martin Řípa, highlighting the company’s commitment to personalized riding experiences.

Breaking down the new lineup

The Joyseat Plus represents the most significant departure from previous models. With a glass fiber reinforced nylon shell and 7mm round tubular stainless steel rails, this saddle offers increased strength and durability for a rider weight limit of 120kg. Despite its robust construction, the saddle maintains an impressive weight profile starting around 220g. At $350/€350, it’s positioned as the entry point to custom saddle technology.

The mid-tier Joyseat Pro essentially carries forward the previous generation’s design with a thin twill carbon shell bonded to 7x9mm oval UD carbon rails. With a 100kg rider limit and weight starting from 165g, this $490/€490 option strikes a balance between performance and price.

For the performance-focused cyclist, the all-new Joyseat Ultra represents Posedla’s pinnacle product. Described as their “most technologically advanced saddle to date,” it features a reinforced UD carbon shell and oval rails engineered for optimal lightweight performance and race-ready stiffness. Selected by the Classified x Rose Gravel Racing Team, these custom saddles start at just 155g and retail for $550/€550.

How the customization works

Posedla’s customization process begins with their proprietary ‘Smiling Butt Kit’ – an at-home sit bone impression system that collects the rider’s unique anatomical data. The company then employs their ‘3S’ algorithm to analyze this biometric information alongside rider preferences and intended riding style.

The result is a saddle precisely tailored to the individual, with widths ranging from 130-170mm in 1mm increments. Each of the three models utilizes the same Multi-Jet Fusion 3D-printing technology to create the custom-structured TPU padding unique to each rider.

All Joyseat saddles are manufactured entirely in Europe, with the 3D-printed tops joined to carbon and composite shells produced at Posedla’s headquarters and workshop in the Czech Republic.

While the new lineup expands accessibility, Posedla’s custom saddles remain premium products. The manufacturing process takes 4-6 weeks from order to delivery, reflecting the personalized nature of each saddle. And for those eyeing the special magenta version used by professional teams – that remains exclusive to sponsored riders.

For cyclists who have struggled to find comfortable saddles, Posedla’s expanded lineup represents a significant step forward in addressing the highly personal nature of saddle comfort. By extending their price range downward while maintaining their custom-fit philosophy, Posedla is working to make this technology accessible to more riders who prioritize comfort on longer rides.
